A Public Hanging

by Allyson Cross on February 27, 2009

allyArtspace111, a dynamic contemporary art gallery in the outskirts of downtown Fort Worth, Texas, has selected several original oil-on-canvas paintings by Pat Gabriel, associate creative director at GCG Marketing, for its upcoming gallery exhibition, American Landscape: Urban/Rural.

ArtSpace111 has described the exhibition as focusing on “work that affirms ideas of the country’s natural beauty and splendor.” Gabriel’s selected paintings feature landscapes inspired by scenery in Fort Worth and west Texas. His painting, Storm, was recently featured in media materials for the event. The gallery will also feature artwork from 23 other locally based artists.

An opening reception will be held Saturday, March 7 from 6-9 p.m. The reception is free and open to the public. Refreshments will be available.  American Landscape: Urban/Rural will be on display through April 18. Artspace111 is open Tuesday through Friday from 10-5 p.m. The collection will also be on display for Fort Worth’s Spring Gallery Night Saturday, March 28 from 2-9 p.m.

Additional works will also be on display at the Fort Worth Community Arts Center and Gallery 76102, the new UTA space in downtown Fort Worth, in March and April.
