CNCF: Manny Award for GCG Marketing/GCG Healthcare
What a Wednesday.
GCG Marketing art director, Kris Copeland, was in New York City last night to accept the Best Philanthropic Campaign award at the 2009 Med Ad News Manny Awards for our work for the Children’s Neuroblastoma Cancer Foundation. The campaign featured gripping headlines alongside portraits of children living with neuroblastoma, with the goal of creating awareness of this deadly type of pediatric cancer.
There’s an unconfirmed report that Kris was asked to go to the podium and make a speech in front of the entire banquet. No doubt he did well, but we’ve been scouring YouTube all morning to see if we can’t give him some gentle kidding. When Kris gets back to the office, we’ll have him post a personal memoir of the trip. Do stay tuned for that.
Our president, Neil Foster said this in the official press release:
We’re especially proud of this national healthcare award because it honors the creative passion of the GCG team and the stellar photography of Fort Worth’s Geno Loro, Jr.,
We appreciate the recognition and hope it will help raise awareness for CNCF, an organization in which we all feel a personal investment.
This neuroblastoma project has been a very popular one. It’s also garnered local and district ADDY® awards from the American Advertising Federation, and is currently under consideration for a national ADDY® award.
In the end, it is a cause we all believe in and it’s impossible to state how rewarding it is that we may have helped more people learn about neuroblastoma.
